Agilent Technologies Inc announced a significant expansion of
its India operations-the opening of a Life Sciences and Chemical Analysis (LSCA)
center of excellence in Bangalore. This is the first Agilent center of
excellence in India whereas globally, Agilent has eight LSCA centers. The
investment in Bangalore is in addition to a recently announced $30 million
investment to establish a state-of-the-art campus near Manesar in Haryana.

The Bangalore facility will serve Agilent's customers across
India. It will house Agilent's core platform products, including gas
chromatographs and liquid chromatographs, both stand-alone and in combination
with mass spectrometry systems. The initiative is expected to aid in technology
demons-tration, pre and post sales application support and customer education,
training and sample analysis.

Nick Roelofs, VP and GM, Agilent's Life Sciences Solutions
Unit, explained, "India is among the most important markets for Agilent
globally, especially since India is a significant base for high-end R&D in
pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. High-end test and measurement equipment will
play a significant role in this regard, as product standard. It will continue to
be Agilent's endeavor to introduce next-generation technologies that address
automation productivity and efficiency in scientific and engineering operations
to Indian customers."

The center of excellence is modeled on the same high standards
at other Agilent centers, with a special emphasis on Agilent's global
environmental, health and safety guidelines.

Speaking at the facility inauguration, Venkatesh Valluri,
President and CEO, Agilent Technologies-India, said, "We also plan to
increase our focus on providing cutting-edge technology services to our
customers and partners."
