The Indian market will soon see one more notebook brand on its shelves. ACI Infocom has taken up the exclusive distribution of Fujitsu notebooks in the country.

"These are light and sleek notebooks priced between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1,60,000 and will be aimed at corporates," says VS Bapna, President. To start off, ACI wants to sell 5,000 notebooks in one full year and then look for bigger numbers.

ACI will follow the direct as well indirect sale models to sell the notebooks. Partners who are exposed to corporate selling would be given preference in the first phase, while the direct marketing team would not only sell the notebook but also create a brand image for the product.

Bapna says that in the current market scenario it is not realistic to expect large volumes for notebooks. "But I am confident that our current market development efforts would bring us volumes in the long term," he points out.

In an effort to diversify its product portfolio, ACI also recently signed a deal with Powerware Systems to distribute its UPSs. Bapna also informs that the company plans to get into software development. ACI is also the leading distributor for Microsoft.
