Acer announced that its consolidated revenue in April stood at $667.44
million, a rise of
11.9 percent from $596.40 million a year earlier. The moderate growth rate is a
reflection of the PC industry's slow season globally. The January to April 2006
accumulated revenue reached $3.27 billion, demonstrating a rise of 23.1 perÂcent
from the previous year's $2.66 billion. The company recorded a rise of 26.1
percent of the full year revenue target of $12.42 billion. Factors like seasonal
holidays, international currency fluctuation and other economic changes around
the world have made April an unusually slow month for the global PC industry.
However, for May and June, Acer has several aggressive business plans in place,
and is confident that its Q2 revenue will be close to Q1. In terms of Acer's IT
product business, the April consoliÂdated revenue grew by 14.8 percent YoY,
while the January to April accumulated revenue rose by 30.9 percent YoY.
