Acer announces launch of Acer Power Sle Linux desktop

The Acer Group has announced the launch of Acer Power Sle, a commercial Linux desktop, in the Indian market. The PCs have been designed to cover an entire gamut of players in the market, from large enterprises and SMBs to SoHo, educational and government customers. The desktop, which has been in the Indian market since January 2003, comes with an Intel P4 1.8 Ghz processor and is available at a price of Rs 28,000.

According to Harish Kohli, GM, (Sales and Marketing), Acer India Enterprise Products Group, “The strategy of focusing on niche areas such as banking, finance, insurance, government and oil companies has helped Acer to register growth. The Acer Power Sle is specifically designed to cater to the requirements of PSUs and also to survive in rough work conditions.”
