Accel ICIM, the Chennai-based systems integration company, has decided to strengthen its focus on the application software segment. Accel, which has been projecting itself as an end-to-end solutions provider company would now stress more on the software instead of the hardware component of its business.

"We have consciously decided to increase our offerings in the software services space as we perceive it to be one of the key

areas with promises of healthy growth. It would also greatly help us to strengthen our bottomlines," reasoned Bhaskar Ranjan Das, GM, Accel ICIM. He added that there are huge opportunities as far as demand for application softwares - including ERP, CRM and so on - are concerned, especially in the SMB segment.

Accel already works closely with Microsoft, JD Edwards and Sun for developing software applications to meet diversified customer needs. And to further strengthen its presence in this domain, it has also forged an alliance with Citrix and its distributor

Datapro.

"Increasing number of users especially those using ERP and CRM nowadays want interoperability and Citrix solutions greatly help to integrate applications across different platforms," pointed out Das.

He also informed that the company would be largely focusing on manufacturing, finance, telecom and services as major verticals. "We would be clocking about Rs 30 crore from our software services business in the current financial year. And we are looking at taking this to Rs 50 crore for 2003-04," he said adding, "In the times to come our revenue from pure hardware

would become incidental and software would become our main focus."

He also intimated that the company, which posted a revenue of Rs 156 crore in FY 2001-02, is well on its way to record a 20 percent revenue growth for the current fiscal.
