July 7 was a big day for us. The DQ Week awards which have been honoring the
channel partner community across the country completed 10 years of its
existence. The evening saw many channel partners from across the North region
and especially from NCR come together to toast the success of the awards.

To tell you the truth, I joined The DQ Week only two years ago and have since
been amazed at the goodwill that I have come across because of the brand and how
by meeting channel partners I have come to learn so much about the past history
of the paper that I now work with.

My first brush was when I went to do my first IT Panchayat in Jaipur. The
warm welcome that the Rajasthan Computer Traders Association (RCTA), gave to the
team was nothing less than heartening. The entire team of the association took
it upon themselves to ensure that we had a successful event.

The next stop was Allahabad, and the shop of one of our consistent
winners-Manish Mehrotra. This is where I learnt how the old trophy looked like
and how appreciated the awards were as they held a pride of place in his
collection with a special showcase for them. It was with some amount of pride
that I noted how prominently displayed were the photos and trophies that
industry veteran and a known-name in sub-distribution in Kolkata-KL Lalani had
won from us.

Again I noticed the kind of patronage we received when on one invite, top sub
distributors converged in Hyderabad to support us in our new venture-The Disti
Summit this year, saying nothing about the continuous success that SP Summit is
for the last three years because people block their calendars much in advance
and also help us in zeroing in on places where the event can be held.

The 10th annual awards night, which happened in Delhi last week was, a
continuation of the journey that started in 1999 when the awards were instituted
in Delhi. We started off by giving out awards to channel partners in Delhi only
and today a decade down the line, partners from 51 cities in North India compete
to win the honors and then come with family and friends to not only receive the
awards but to cheer other worthy winners. This year the icing on the cake has
been provided by various associations from across the country who are supporting
us in the endeavor to honor partners in channel space.

While the awards night is always special but my most endearing memory will
always be when the first ever DQ Week PCAIT Ashish Aggarwal Memorial Trophy was
instituted and announced this year. The kind of faith that associations and thus
the channel partners at large put in us has been immense and I humbly thank all
of you for that and hope that it continues for many more such wonderful decades.
