Computer Sellers Welfare Association of
Dindigul (COSWAD) conducted its elections for 2010-11. A Alagappan,
CEO, Tenth Planet has been elected as President. Upon his election,

said, “I want to
strengthen the association this year by initiating new members. I
also want to conduct vendor meets, IT expositions so that new avenues
of business might open up. We are already reeling under the pressure
of slowdown, so the focus will be on improving the financial strength
of overall business.” Currently the association has 35 members but
Alagappan rues the fact that most of them are very busy and cannot
give too much time for the association. “The situation can only
improve if we all come together. This year, we are on a collective
mission to get maximum participation from all members for all
meetings.”

On a similar note, Fedelis Xavier,
Proprietor of Alffa Computers and Secretary, COSWAD, said, “We want
to increase the total number of members by at least 10 to 20 percent
this year. Like other southern associations, we also want to conduct
awareness programs and many welfare activities.” Dindigul conducts
business of around Rs 3 to 4 crore monthly. The association is
planning on welfare measures like donation of computers to less

It also plans on
securing a separate building for the association activities.
Alagappan elaborated, “We implore customers to do business
only with dealers who have TIN numbers. All our members know that the
association will support them in times of differences with either
distributors or vendors.” He is also keen on creating dialogues
with regional distributors and vendors like LG to open up service
centers in the city.
