6 laptops stolen from Strategic Marketing, Dehradun

Theft incidents are on the rise in Dehradun market. On Jan 8 night thieves
broke into three different shops including that of Strategic Marketing's IT shop
located at Rajpur Road. The thieves also ran away with a couple of jackets from
a garment store (Blackberry Showroom) and mobiles from a nearby mobile shop (Neelu
Audio Video).

Last Thursday night burglars broke into Strategic Marketing's shop by
breaking the lock of the shutter. They ran away with six laptops of HP Pavilion
and Compaq range. The model and the part number of the stolen laptops are HP
pavilion DV3005TX KS365PA CNU81324XW, HP MINI 1001TU NE570P CNU8444ZBN, Compaq
presario CQ40 - 137TX FQ365PA CND8292R3P, HP COMM. 540 FS301 AA CNU8391WMH, HP
COMM.6530b NB584PA CNU8481DYB.

Informing about the same, Vikas Dewan, CEO of Strategic Marketing stated,
“The total theft amounts to a sum of Rs 3 lakh. We have lodged an FIR at the
local police station and the officials are investigating the case. This incident
has come as a huge blow and we are hoping that the thieves will be caught at the
earliest.”

Incidentally Strategic Marketing had a number of surveillance cameras
installed within their shop but unfortunately these cameras were switched off
when the incident took place.

However, the company has taken measures in terms of informing about the theft
incident to both the Dehradun IT association and circulating mails among the
