In a daring incident, miscreants decamped with not one or two but five Compaq
laptops, from the parking lot of Nehru Place. It was the evening of April 21
that Kuldeep Bansal from Micro Peripherals parked his vehicle at the Nehru Place
parking lot only to be robbed of five laptops worth more than Rs 1,18000.

“I had taken these laptops from my distributor, Redington India and was
about to deliver them to a client. I usually park my vehicle at this Nehru Place
parking lot, but on Saturday night when I returned back at around 8:30 pm, I saw
a duplicate key in the car's ignition. I immediately thought that someone has
tried to take my car. It was only when I reached my destination that I realized
that all the laptops were gone from the back seat of my car. The culprits were
smart as they left the casings behind so that I would not realize the theft so
early,” informed, a shocked Bansal.

While the stolen laptops might already have been sold to someone else in the
regional market, the incident has sent shock waves in the channel community in
Nehru Place.

“This is indeed a shocking incident. We all park our cars at the Nehru
Place parking lot. The responsibility surely lies with the parking people, but
we also need to make sure that we do not put costly valuables inside the car
while we are away for one or two hours,” explained, JP Modi, CEO of Nehru
Place based MC Modi & Company.

“I have already given this as
a complaint to the police and very soon they are going to register a FIR. It
does not look to me like a handiwork of an outsider. Certainly there was more
than one person involved in this act and I think that someone from within my
company has done it,” Bansal added.
