The seventh edition of Bangalore IT.COM, which starts Nov 1,
has attracted over 200 com-panies and 15 international delegations this year.
Ann-ouncing the highlights of the event, MK Shankaralinge Gowda, Secretary to
Govern-ment Department of IT, BT and Science and Technology said, "This
year, we have 10 separate pavilions including a dedicated pavilion for animation
and games sector. This is to highlight India's prowess in animation so that
international clients are aware of outsourcing possi-bilities in this
sector."

Another first, this time around, would be the job mart in the
BPO pavilion where youngsters can find out the requisite skills and training
needed for BPO jobs. The event will see active participation from 15 countries
including first time participants like Australia, Spain and Belgium.

Twelve states have con-firmed their participation at IT.COM.
Some of the major players participating this year are Intel, HP, Progeon, TCS,
D-Link, Tally, Seimens, Infosys and Moser Baer.

About the brouhaha surrou-nding companies threatening to pull
out of the event, Gowda said, "There have been issues raised by IT
companies in Bangalore and we are in talks with the various gove-rnment
departments to ensure that these issues are dealt with effectively."

"This year, we have the support of industry bodies like
CII, NASSCOM, TiE and VLSI India which have helped in raising the quality of
content of the IT.COM conferences," he said.
