2,000 porno CDs seized, man held

The Piplani police conducted a raid at a CD selling premises at Ayodhya Nagar and seized nearly 2,000 cassettes having porno contents. The raid was a sequel to a tip-off at the unit of Preetpal Singh who has been taken into custody.

According to information, Piplani police approached Singh for striking a deal with him for purchasing CDs. Singh turned up at Kacchi market, Piplani for supplying the CDs where the police, clad in civil dress, were waiting for prowl. Police caught him red-handed and brought him at his residence, where a full-scale raid was carried out in which over 2,000 CDs were seized.

During investigation, he confessed to be in the job of selling CDs for the last three months. He used to purchase blank cassettes from New Delhi and then sell them after dubbing with nude and vulgar scenes through computers. He was earning a massive profit in the business as each CD was costing around Rs 150-200.

Giving details, city SP Sanjay Singh said that Preetpal Singh, 45, son of Harbhajan Singh, was residing in Bhopal for the past 22 years and was making regular trips to New Delhi as he originally belonged to Punjab. Earlier, Singh was working with a private factory in Govindpura but left the job three months back and started selling the CDs at a rented house in Ayodhya Nagar which is owned by one Nagar. Police have seized all filled and blank cassettes, besides the computers and other electrical items.
