Webel and IBM launch a Distance Learning Program

In collaboration with IBM, The West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Ltd (Webel) has launched a distance learning project for professional-level IT training. Buddhadev Bhattacharya, CM, West Bengal inaugurated the program.

A state government's IT education policy initiative, the distributed learning system aims to transform the way education is imparted. Course contents are pumped through the Network, using the advanced Lotus Learning Space. An open web-based e-learning solution Learning Space combines course contents with queries and answers from a single group or multiple groups. 

Adip Roy, VP (East), IBM, said, "We are immensely delighted in associating with the government of West Bengal in imparting IT education to the masses. This venture is one of its kinds among the projects initiated by the government with us. IBM Learning Space 4.0 is a revolutionary solution and its deployment will certainly give a boost to IT education in the state."
