Venkatesh Swaminathan, new head for Attachmate Group in India

His role will be to strengthen the group's position in the Indian market

Venkatesh Swaminathan was named as the new country head for the India operations of Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE, business units of the Attachmate Group. In this role, Swaminathan will be reporting to Boris Ivancic, VP and GM, Asia Pacific.

While Venkatesh will be responsible for the continued growth of the Indian business, one of his key areas of focus will be strengthening of Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE's positions in the Indian market and to enhance business value to enterprise customers of these brands.

Commenting on the occasion, Boris Ivancic said, "With his vast experience spanning 17 years and his ability to deal with customers across verticals and geographies, Venkatesh will be an asset for us in reinforcing our current market presence in a fast growing and dynamic market such as India."

Prior to this role, he has held leadership roles with Microsoft, Websense and RSA Security. He worked with Microsoft for approximately four years and was the first dedicated resource appointed by Microsoft for Identity and Access (IDA) business in India.

He was also associated with APARA enterprise solutions, Ramco Systems, Satyam Infoway. and Business India Information Technology.
