Tata Infotech Presents "MindSpan"

Tata Infotech held a seminar titled 'MindSpan', on current and future trends in IT, in the city recently. Organized for existing Tata Infotech Education students with a view to provide a realistic perspective of the IT industry and the career options available to them. The seminar enables students to prepare themselves better for a professional career in the corporate world.

Rahul Thapan, Head - Education Services Division, Tata Infotech Ltd, stated, "One of the values that we practice as a part of the Tata Group is to contribute to society, and its continuous development. We believe that our country can reach greater heights, only if we invest in the development of our younger generation. So in addition to providing a solid foundation of IT concepts, we are investing in people through the MindSpan seminars, so that they have a better and brighter future career." 

Seminar included presentation on related topics from experts in their respective field. Rajiv Khurana, Principle Consultant, The Personnel Lab, presented smart initiatives on moving positively in life and employment. Ishaan Ranjan, VP(Projects), Cyber Media, gave a holistic view of the Opportunities in the new millennium available in the IT industry, for the benefit of the students. Also present on the occasion was Ashish Kashyap, Head - E Commerce, Times Internet, who discussed the future of e-commerce in the domestic market and the job opportunities available. Senior representatives from Pricewaterhouse Coopers spoke to the students on how to position themselves in the job market. Rahul Thapan, Head - Education Services Division, Tata Infotech Ltd covered the challenges that the students should be prepared for, in their professional lives in the future. Prof RK Arora, from the Department of Computer Science, IIT Delhi, delivered the keynote address.

Company conducts MindSpan at three levels. One for the students who have just completed high school and are looking for getting into a career stream to help them getting guidance in how to succeed in life. Second is for the students who are undergoing the Tata Infotech Education Career programs like G-Tech. The Senior management of Tata Infotech invests time in training the students on various behavioral, personality development, interpersonal skills, values, ethic and related topics to help them succeed in their future careers. Third is for the students who are on the verge of completing their career courses by bringing Industry experts and counseling them on what career options are available, and based on industry trends, how to make the right choice. 

Tata Infotech Education offers G-Tech a three-year undergraduate program and G-Tech program is the stepping-stone to the student career in IT. It is based on the principle of concepts rather than software version. The course stresses on the fundamentals, so that the understanding of the student is more long lasting and is not outdated by the release of new software versions
