This is the second update rolled out by the Japanese manufacturer. It is an OTA update and is being rolled out gradually for all the users.

The first Android N update for Xperia XZ introduced multi-window support, enabling the smartphone to run two apps simultaneously and double tap to switch between each.

The update also claimed to improve the battery life and adds a new messaging app enabling users to share videos and audio in just a few taps.

Last month, Sony started rolling out the Android Nougat update for its Xperia X and Xperia X Compact smartphones.

Android 7.0 Nougat update brings new features such as multi-window support, improved battery life, enhanced messaging, better notification shade design and more. Along with this, the company has added features like manual shutter speed and ISO controls at full 23MP resolution.  A new self-timer functionality has also been added.

The OTA update measures around 1.3GB in size and has been rolled out for Xperia X and Xperia X Compact users across the globe.
