Softmart has an online version

Softmart Solutions has gone online with the Internet version of the software superstore,

www.softmartonline.com. The Web version will have the price list of all the products that it deals with and details of the new products in the market. "The online version is just an extension of the communication arm of ours. We are not creating any new market, but providing better services to our clients at a minimal cost, where they can reach us at the shortest time," explained Alok Gupta, CEO,

Softmart.

The site will be ready within the next 10 days.

Softmartonline will have the facility, where the customer can make the orders online but will not be e-commerce enabled. "Our market is still not matured to do the payments online with the credit cards and the demands for the same are not there," said Gupta. It has the listing of products by the company as well as by the product name. The resellers and channel partners get their user login to know about the prices and also the benefits that they acquire by placing the order. Gupta added that the Internet is not an end in itself to Softmart, but is viewed by it as an extension of their value-added services.

Meanwhile, Gupta promoted International ITES (IT Enabled Services) Institute, has tied up with Mumbai-based karRox Technologies Ltd, which is into computer training and certification, to set up an institute to train people in call center services. The institute--KITES training center--is located in Kalkaji. "The services offered by call centers need specialized training in customer service orientation, etiquette, equipments and accent," said Gupta, elaborating on the need for the training center.

The courses would have additional certification from the Algonquin College of Canada, which offers career-oriented programs globally.

The Institute will also provide corporate training for the existing call center agents. The training starts right from the stage of identification of eligible candidates to screening, selection and training. International ITES Institute has already invested Rs 25 lakh towards the training center. The duration of the courses is five weeks and six weeks.

Gupta added that the call center training market is a growing market with few players and immense potential. He added that the country is in need of about 10,000 call center agents for the next one year.
