Red Hat India and ER & DCI to develop Linux applications

Red Hat India, a company dealing in development, deployment and management of solutions built on the open source platform has announced a strategic relationship with Electronics Research & Development Center of India (ER & DCI) to jointly develop applications using Red Hat Linux platform and support. 

The Red Hat India and ER & DCI alliance will entail both the organizations jointly working towards the development and commercialization of products and applications developed on Red Hat Linux. The alliance will also result in the joint research of developing embedded multilingual features into the Linux kernel with a view to developing multilingual applications. 


In addition to collaborating on developing integrated solutions, Red Hat India will also provide training to government employees in Linux with a view to popularize Linux platform. Red Hat India will provide ER & DCI with the requisite infrastructure and support and also provide certificate of participation to whoever is trained by them. 

Elaborating on the tie-up with ER & DCI, Javed Tapia, Director, Red Hat India, said, "Linux has great potential for getting open source computing to the Indian masses to those who cannot afford the expensive computing equipment and commercial applications. We at Red Hat India, recognize the potential of hi-tech training, system support, platform support on Linux and application development to enhance penetration of IT in Indian society. DCI"

ER & DCI has been using Red Hat Linux as open code platform in various segments of our research areas. With NLP strength, ER & DCI along with Red Hat India will be in a position to provide solutions to various government, public, semi - government and private sectors."
