Irks of private telephone
Few months ego, when HFCL launched its private telephone service Connect in
Punjab, the residents of the state were a happy lot, hoping of a good, cheap and
prompt telephone. Now, after the launch of Connect, this service has created
trouble for its subscribers. Some of them surrendered their BSNL connection and
applied for this private phone, but Connect provided a poor service to
subscribers.
In the initial stages, Connect assured to provide new connections on demand,
which slowly extended till a week. But the connections started after months of
filing in the applications. Now, subscribers have complaint of higher billing
and disturbed (noisy) lines. Poor after sale service is also a prominent
complaint. On other hand, BSNL is claiming fault repair within 24 hours of
complaint. In recent developments subscribers are once again planning to shift
back to BSNL. This was a fever and craze of private telephone, which ended as a
fizz at the end of few initial months.
