Oracle aspires to become number one Cloud service provider in India

Acknowledging the momentum of Cloud adoption in India, Oracle India has unveiled a roadmap to offer its plethora of Cloud offerings on the SaaS and PaaS platforms to the Indian customers. By foraying into across the vertical, the company will concentrate of tier 2 and tier three cities. Oracle India will hire a dedicated team of sales professionals who will take its cloud offerings to the end users.

Shailender Kumar, Managing Director of Oracle India said, “We are witnessing unprecedented demand for Oracle’s cloud solutions in India and we are able to drive this Cloud momentum. Our vision is to be number one in the cloud services in next twelve months. Through our cloud strategy we are trying to rope in all kinds of customers.”

Kumar said that the company was working closely with customers and partners and helping them to build their business around its Cloud solutions.

“We are witnessing fasted adoption of Oracle’s Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). No other vendor in the market has the complete Cloud offering that we offer and that sets us different and unique in the market”, he said.

Oracle is a Cloud service provider which offers SaaS, PaaS, IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and DaaS (Database as a Service). It has a portfolio of more than 600 Cloud applications. It’s Oracle Sales Cloud, Oracle Service Cloud, Oracle Marketing Cloud and Oracle Social Cloud accounts more than 50 percent of company’s SaaS customer base whereas Oracle Human Management Cloud constitutes 32 percent of the SaaS customer base.

Niraj Kaushik, Vice President-Applications, Oracle India said that PaaS was a foundation of its software as a service offerings.

“Oracle is the only company which offer Saas and Pass offerings. PaaS provides Database and Java as a service platform which creates a linkage and make sure that every customer has a path as well as the co-working ecosystem available. There is a huge opportunity in PaaS for partners”, he said.

Oracle Cloud supports 62 million users and 23 billion transactions each day and it is connected with 30000 devices. In fiscal Q3 2015, Oracle’s SaaS and PaaS business grew by 30 percent to $375 million whereas IaaS grew by 32 percent to $155 million.

Kaushik said that Cloud has opened whole new revenue stream for partners. However, all premises market would be keeping its existence in the market.

Talking about future roadmap of Cloud business in India, Kaushik said that the company through its dedicated sales team would ensure best services to customers. He said that the company will focus on metros and expand its business across the verticals.

As part of the company’s program to drive cloud business, Oracle India will be hosting Oracle CloudWorld 2015 on 7th April in Mumbai.
