Naukari.com to setup placement cell in Chennai

Naukri.com has launched it's placement cell catering especially o the IT enabled services industry in Delhi and Bombay, and plans to open the same in Chennai, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad.

Catering specifically to the needs of MNC call centers and customer support departments for large organizations, the number of walk-ins at the placement centers had averaged over 250 per day and this number is expected to rise further over the next few months. Having placed over 200 graduates in the last one month in similar positions, naukri.com aims to take this number up to 1000 a month in the next six months.

"With the success of call center operations in India, there is huge demand for young graduates who have the requisite skill sets for these jobs. The salary is attractive which has opened up an array of opportunities in the service industry for graduates fresh out of college. For volume recruitment, many large organizations prefer to outsource this effort - a role that we have welcomed and met. The IT enabled service industry, which currently recruits one lakh people in India, is estimated to grow to about four lakh by 2004 and is projected to employ eight lakh people by 2008," said Sanjeev Bikhchandani, CEO - Naukri.com.
