Tuesday, December 19, 2006

DQW NEWS BUREAU Mumbai, Dec 14

AsusTek has planned an investment of Rs 10 crore for expansion in India. In the first phase of its expansion plans, the company will shift to a larger office in Mumbai. This shifting is scheduled for the first quarter of 2007.

"Our growth plans aim at the expansion of not just the office but also our capabilities of sales, marketing, service support and channel operations," said Andrew Tsui, MD, Asus India. According to him, the new office will be the first step towards building a stronger position in the India market.

He further added, "Continuous improvement in infrastructure is the fundamental way to grow and expand. The Indian market has been a challenging one, and we being a leading technology company, have thrived on challenges."

Asus has been in the Indian market for over 10 years now. It has been predominantly known for its motherboards. Lately, it has also started end-user products like notebooks and LCD monitors. Asus is also present in the graphics cards, server solutions, networking products, digital home products and optical disk drives.
