AsusTek has planned an investment of Rs 10 crore for expansion
in India. In the first phase of its expansion plans, the company will shift to a
larger office in Mumbai. This shifting is scheduled for the first quarter of
2007.
"Our growth plans aim at the expansion of not just the
office but also our capabilities of sales, marketing, service support and
channel operations," said Andrew Tsui, MD, Asus India. According to him,
the new office will be the first step towards building a stronger position in
the India market.
He further added, "Continuous improvement in infrastructure
is the fundamental way to grow and expand. The Indian market has been a
challenging one, and we being a leading technology company, have thrived on
challenges."
Asus has been in the Indian market for over 10 years now. It has
been predominantly known for its motherboards. Lately, it has also started
end-user products like notebooks and LCD monitors. Asus is also present in the
graphics cards, server solutions, networking products, digital home products and
optical disk drives.
