Microsoft launches Exchanges 2000 in India

Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd has announced the launch of Microsoft Exchange 2000, a messaging and collaboration platform that enables anytime, anywhere communication. Exchange 2000, a critical part of the .NET Enterprise Server family launched by Microsoft in November 2000 is available in three flavors-Exchange 2000 Server, Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server and Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server.

Exchange 2000 provides a platform for developing Web-enabled business applications. In addition, the product offers data, audio and video conferencing functionality that enables virtual teams to meet and work together across geographic or organizational boundaries. With this product Microsoft also plans to target the small and medium enterprise through its ASP and application hosting functionality.

It integrates easily with the Windows 2000 platform to offer 24x7x365 messaging and collaborating for all businesses from small organization to large enterprises. With the new Microsoft Web Storage System at its core, Exchange 2000 serves as the single place to create, store, access, and share all knowledge within a company.

Exchange 2000 is optimized for high-performance streaming of multimedia data types, such as audio and video, and for advanced communication such as unified messaging. It integrates with the Windows 2000 platform and takes full advantage of the Active Directory, enabling system administrators to create a single enterprise directory for managing both messaging and Network resources.

Microsoft Exchange Web Storage System

The Exchange Web Storage System provides easy access to information from a range of client software, including Outlook, any Internet standard email client, any Web browser and Windows applications.

Anytime, Anywhere Communication

With features such as instant messaging and data and video conferencing, it enables businesses to access people and information, anytime and from anywhere. Information can be accessed through a choice of clients, including Office 2000, Web browsers, Widows Explorer, Cellular phones and handheld computers etc.

Microsoft is in the processes of partnering with Certified Technical Education Centers (CTEC) across the country to provide training. NIIT and Aptech, are few of the first CTECs to deploy Exchange 2000 Server and is rolling-out training programs on the same.

Support

Microsoft through Premier Support Centers and Microsoft Certified Support Centers will provide technical support for Exchange 2000 Server across the country.
