Lenovo signs Avnet as an authorized global distributor

Avnet Technology Solutions has been authorized globally as a Lenovo distributor and is now distributing Lenovo’s System x (x86) servers and related solutions, following the transition of IBM’s System x server business to Lenovo, effective October 1.

 

Avnet will help its channel partners in more than 40 countries throughout Asia- Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean and North America continue to develop and expand their enterprise businesses.

“Lenovo has demonstrated great momentum in its enterprise server business, and its acquisition of IBM’s System x business is the start of an exciting new era for the x86 market,” said Tony Madden, senior VP and supplier business executive for Avnet Technology Solutions, Global

“Avnet has a long-standing and proven track record in successfully building channel ecosystems and alliances globally for Lenovo’s recently acquired System x product line,” said Wilfredo Sotolongo, VP, Worldwide Sales, Enterprise Systems, Lenovo Group.

Avnet will distribute the company’s System x, BladeCenter and Flex System blade servers and switches, x86-based Flex integrated systems, NeXtScale and iDataPlex servers and associated software, blade networking, and maintenance operations.

 

To help channel partners offer complete end-to-end solutions, Avnet will continue to provide a variety of traditional service offerings, such as logistics, sales, marketing, finance, and technical services, strategically paired with business, IT, lifecycle and education services.
