The immediate priority of FITDAK is to induct district associations as its new members. Even though AIT Bengaluru, DDAIT-Hubli, BITA-Belgaum, MITDA-Mangalore and DealIT-Mysore are already FITDAK members, they still have to formalize memberships of the other IT associations from Davangere, Shimoga, Hasan, Chitradurga, Bellary, Gulbarga, Bijapur, Bagalkot etc., which will be a part of this EC meet. In the next phase, Karnataka association looks forward to inducting the other set of district associations.

Also, on agenda, is to restructure the general body of the association where the office bearers are empowered to work on conceptualizing and implementing new initiatives of FITDAK for the benefit of members across the state.

Continuing to address and resolve the challenges the trade is facing B. Ananda Rao, president,  FITDAK said, “The biggest challenge continues to be the predatory pricing practiced by OLS market place that has both direct impact on the channels addressing SOHO/SMB/Home segment and indirect impact on enterprise solution providers. Tier-2 and 3 districts of the state are the worst hit by the diabolic business models of OLS market who are being funded by the FDI companies  VC firms while the discounts are ranging anywhere between 15% to 30%”.
