IBM ACE@168 holds IT seminar

IBM ACE@168, the most recent addition to computer learning center, in

association in HT-PACE, organized a IT seminar for those aspiring for a career

in IT as well as those interested in enhancing their skills and capabilities in

this field recently.

Ajay Narayan Mushran, Finance Minister was present at the occasion in the

capacity of the chief guest, at the well-attended seminar. He complemented IBM

ACE for organizing the IT seminar for the benefit of the citizens of the State

capital.

He also stressed on the importance of IT skills and the need for quality

computer education, KS Sharma, Vice Chairman, State Planning Board and SC

Tripathi, Director General of Police were also present on the occasion.

The seminar saw a convergence of IT experts from the industry the academia

and the government. For more than 200 students from 20 schools and colleges it

was an enlightening experience listening to a panel of five experts discussing

the career opportunities in IT, the scare created in the IT sector by the US

slowdown, the career opportunities in countries other than the US.

All the students who the member of HT-PACE and accompanied by their computer

teachers. The experts also answered queries of students gathered there and

encouraged them to ‘carry out their work seriously’, which would enable them

to make a success in IT career.

Some of the prominent experts who shed light during the first round on

various aspects of IT, opportunities available and also on continuous up

gradation of knowledge included AK Tiwari, Manoj Shrivastava and Sanjay Mehrotra.

The second panel discussion was on the perspective and prospects of IT in MP.

Principal Secretary LK Joshi initiated the panel-discussion where R Parsuram, R

Gopalakrishnan and Rakesh Shrivastava were the experts on the panel. They opined

that MP government was giving importance to IT and computerization both in urban

and rural areas. The prospects of IT in the State were very bright in the coming

years, they said.

Gopalakrishnan stressed upon to bridge the gap between those who knows IT and

those who don't. He said it was weapon to enhance the skills, abilities and

overall personality development. Earlier, the final round of quiz was also

conducted in which students of Red Rose Higher Secondary School emerged as

winners.
