Gujarat Gov. Distributes Lenovo laptops to school students

The Government of Gujarat has joined hands with Lenovo to provide technology for the education sector. Under the partnership, Lenovo will provide 97000 laptops with a view to bring technology based efficiencies Education.

“The state governments are pushing for laptops. we have got an order for 97,000 laptops from the Gujarat government. Mostly large government deals are combative.  Also if vendors delay orders, they are penalized, but when the payments get delayed from government side, there is no extra interest added to late payments” Says Rahul Agarwal Managing Director Lenovo India.

"We  also aim to set up much more touch points in India to expand our reach to the consumers in smaller towns. These retail outlets will help consumers to have easy access to Lenovo products as well as services." He further added.

Talking to The DQ Week a distributor Gaurang Seth says “ yes we are involved in the that gov. project. We distributors are glad to hear the news and we are ready for being the part of it”. Although the distributors are not ready to disclose the exact information.

As a part of an extensive retail expansion across the country, Lenovo is planning to set up more than 1000 touch points in the country, which would include LES Lite stores in state.

As Gujarat has become an industrial hub with vibrant business environment The Company had grown about two times of market growth in the state during past couple of years.
