Delhi-based Global Groupware Solutions, a groupware software vendor specializing in workflow automation applications, has announced that it has received an investment from Intel Capital. Global Groupware will use the funds to further develop Smiles a Web-enabled Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution. The investment will also allow the company to help expand its operations throughout Asia.

Smiles automates customer integration across the corporate functions of marketing, sales, order fulfillment and customer service. The software is targeted at the consumer durables, information technology, office automation, and industrial equipment industries. Global Groupware Solutions plans to make Smiles available through Application Service Providers (ASP).

"This investment from Intel Capital allows us to develop Smiles further," said Sumeet Kapur, CEO of Global Groupware Solutions. "In the changing business environment, customers need to be treated as individuals, not as representatives of a uniform market segment. Companies that have enduring relationships with their customers have a competitive edge, but it is becoming ever more challenging to build these relationships. CRM solutions can help to personalize contacts."

"Intel Capital invests in technologies that drive the growth of the Internet . Web-enabled CRM software enhances and maintains customer relationships over the Internet, which enhances business-to-business transactions online," said Avtar Saini, Director (South East Asia), Intel.

Global Groupware Solutions is a privately owned specialist in workflow automation solutions with offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Singapore and New Jersey. The company is a member of IBM's International Solution Developer Alliance Program and IBM-Lotus Partnerworld. Global Groupware Solutions' customers include HP India, Mercedes Benz India, Modi Xerox, and Tata Telecom.
