Shortly after appointing Pradeep Biyani of Suntronics as the new president of Computer Association of Eastern India (Compass), the association has finally selected its new Executive Committee besides filling up the posts of the other office bearers.
Under the new arrangement, Neeraj Agarwal of Nimbus Technologies has taken up the post of Secretary and Rajesh Saboo of Saboo Computers features as the Treasurer. P.L. Suhasaria has been appointed as the vice president and Manoj Jain as the joint secretary.
As the priorities for this year, Compass has clearly laid down its objective centring on not just improving the vendor-channels relationship and boosting the trading scenario, but emphasis has been given over legality, dispute cases as well as address trading ethics. Besides, the association is also keen over leveraging on new media and this, before the elections, opted to go ‘green' using new media and mailers as the preferred mode of both communication as well as noting down the activities and the decisions taken in the meeting.
In this attempt, the association has formulated several committees and has appointed various chairmen to lead each of the sectors.
With the composition of the Executive Committee and Office Bearers, it seems that Compass is in the mood to return to its basics of having committee members drawn exclusively from hardware and software channel trading; a shift which had occurred last year.
As his objectives for his term, Biyani has highlighted 6 key concerns.
"In the first place, my focus will be to ensure a healthy channel-vendor relationship and strengthen the legal and statutory advisory for the association. Many channel partners do not have access to expert legal advice or opinion and we are planning to remove this anomaly", Biyani said.
