Finally, one ZAP official of the infamous ZAP case, named Mohsin Rupani was nabbed by Delhi police in Mumbai with the assistance of Mumbai Police.
Mohsin Rupani is the brother in law of one of the owners, Arif Mithani. He was
supposedly given a power of attorney to run the company. Meanwhile it had been
reported that Mithani brothers have fled to Australia.
Speaking to the CNS, Senior Police inspector (Juhu police station), A J Mahajan, one of
the police officials who assisted Delhi Police said, Rupani was nabbed in
his office at Vile Parle (west) by the Delhi police and has been
taken to Rajauri Garden police station in Delhi.
It is expected that his arrest would uncover the mystery behind the case,
specifically thelinks of the Wintech and Zap and also the conspiracy by the
company to cheat thousands of students undergoing various computer courses
at their two hundred centers across the country.
Meanwhile, Mumbai witnessed the closure of all the twelve centers in Mumbai. According to
Mumbai police ZAP faces criminal case under IPC sections 406, (Criminal breach
of trust), 420(cheating and fraud), and 34(common intention), filed by the
students, franchisees and the employees. The loss due to the closure rolls in
lakh of rupees according to the Mumbai police.
With Wintech case already on their list, ZAP case too would find its way
to the General Branch at the commissioners' office for further investigation.
