Cube26 ties up with IIIT-Hyderabad to Strengthen Research on Cognitive Intelligence

Cube26 announced a partnership with IIIT-Hyderabad to initiate research on cognitive intelligence. The year-long project will select 2-3 postgraduate and 5-6 undergraduate students of IIIT-Hyderabad, who will further strengthen the data science capabilities of Cube26. The research work will also be considered as theses for the IIIT-Hyderabad students.

Commenting on the new initiative, Saurav Kumar, CEO & Co-Founder, Cube26 said, “At Cube26, we are firmly committed to strengthen our data science capabilities and make a difference with smarter technology products and solutions. The tie-up with IIIT-Hyderabad is in line with our plans to bolster customer experience powered by cognitive intelligence.  There is significant amount of user feedback that could be collected to correct and improve algorithms. We envision such designs and developments in the course of our collaboration.”

Vasudeva Varma, Professor and Dean (Research), IIIT Hyderabad said, “This is a great opportunity for our students to work on a niche subject like cognitive intelligence. The tie-up with Cube26 will help our students with hands on experience of working in a start-up environment. Cognitive intelligence is an untapped sector in India and this research will be beneficial to both Cube26 and our students.”

According to a report published by Markets and Markets, Cognitive Assessment and Training Market is expected to grow from USD 2.4 Billion in 2015 to USD 7.5 Billion by 2020, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 25.6% from 2015 to 2020.

The main benefits of cognitive intelligence are the ability to access the best of both worlds- productivity and speed from machines, emotional intelligence and the ability to handle the unknown from humans. The growing access to mobile computation and the growth of computing strength on the mobile itself are making mobile system development an increasingly attractive proposition to reach the public. However, this multiplies the challenges in building vision and learning systems such as real data collection, response time and minimal data footprint.
