Citrix announces Work Space Services Suite in the Synergy event

Starting with the Key note, "We power the original mobile device: you", Mark Templeton, CEO marked the 25 years of journey of Fort Lauderdale headquartered Citrix Systems, a leader in virtualisation, cloud computing technologies and mobility, at its annual customer meet known as Synergy.

The outgoing CEO, who came dancing in stage with Pharell Williams' song "Happy Me" in the background, touched upon various topics and made number of announcements for the upcoming year in Citrix.

The three-day event that held from 6-8 May 2014, was hosted at Anaheim Convention Centre, LA.

The most important announcement included Citrix Workspace Suite uniting its virtualization, mobility, networking and cloud services technologies as the first cloud-based platform to allow channel partners and customers to offer enterprises rapidly deployable, highly customized virtual desktops connected to multiple clouds."Templeton mentioned that new offering will take enterprises "from zero to business-ready-desktop in a flash" .

Citrix Workspace Services simplifies the creation and delivery of mobile workspaces by automating the setup, configuration and management of Citrix products. It is scheduled to be released later this year.

Apart from this, the company also announced a program for VMWare customers where they will give them a 50% discount, if they moved to Citrx solutions.

There were some announcements to latest enhancements to Citrix ShareFile, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix CloudPlatform and Citrix XenApp; Cisco Nexus integration with NetScaler among others.

The convention centre had various other companies presenting their solutions on top Citrix solutions.
