John Chambers, President and CEO, Cisco Systems addressed the event with a special keynote address. Chambers, an Internet visionary, is charting the company's future in the Internet arena.

There were two tracks simultaneously featuring topics as varied as Content Delivery Networks by Tej Kohli, Evolution of Next Generation Public Networks: IP+Optical by Doug Farndale, Security issues in a network by Bernie Trudel, Wireless technology by Mike De Lo.

A design center was demonstrated the technology and products. The most interesting was a IP-based phone which first goes through the IP network into the usual PSTN lines and back into the IP-based phones, all enabled by Cisco products. Products like cable modems and cable head-ends were also displayed. And according to Cisco officials, most cable distribution companies in the country like Zee Telefilms, and Siticable who have been experimenting with providing Internet over cable have been using Cisco technology.
