Pune-based Cirrus Electronics has tied up with Graphic Impressions, for marketing their clipart software. The product is a collection of 2,000 Indian clipart in vector format. "Most Indian cliparts are in the .jpeg format, while universally the vector format is used due for its scalability. The vector-based visuals can be edited easily unlike their jpeg counterpart. By end of this year, we plan to have over 10,000 clip arts in this software," says Sanjeev Mehta, MD, Cirrus Electronics adding that the product will supplement their multi-lingual software offering.

The product is priced at Rs 475 and on talking about it, Mehta said, "There is rampant piracy in software market and the biggest culprit is the high price for software ownership. If prices are low, users will not be keen on buying pirated software. That is why the price of this product has been kept low."

Cirrus will also start marketing another multi-lingual software called Business Letters from Concept Software. This product will help multi-lingual users write letters in English. The price of this product too has been kept low at Rs 890, and Mehta stated that gradually this would be brought down to Rs 500. The product has various standard letters for formal and informal use. "Every user has to correspond with various people or institutions. This product will help them to do so without any embarrassing mistakes," he informed.

Cirrus has also added Modular Systems' Arthlekha, an accounting software, to their product portfolio. The company is also in process of talks with two more software developers for marketing their products, but Sanjeev was unwilling to give out names.
