Canon India aims at 10% market share by 2017

With expansion of portfolio in projection Canon India vision Rs.100 crore revenue

Canon India launched nine projector models with five LV-series and four XEED series projectors. Both the series of projectors are equipped to offer improved, vibrant image quality, versatile connectivity and simple installation in addition to lower operational costs and increased energy efficiency.

At the launch Canon India announced its target of Rs.100 Crore revenue by expanding its product portfolio in projection segment. “Projection requirements of Indian customers have evolved over the years. Apart from being used for projecting data, customers are now using it to project movies, videos and games as well. The new Canon projectors are equipped with high quality optics to cater to such needs. We will be reaching out to potential customers across all the major metros and aim to capture 10% market share by 2017” said Kazutada Kobayashi, president and CEO, Canon India.

Bhaskar, VP, Office imaging solution division showcased the future development of market and its channel partners by providing them technical training in projection segment. “We’ll be targeting segments like hospitality, Universities, lecture houses, exhibition, government, home segment, medical and simulation. We are also seeking to expand channel sales in this we’ll be able to expand Canon presence across India and keep on contributing by providing user friendly products” he added.

Now, Canon will be focusing on providing product training to its employees and channel partners. This will in turn help them to educate customers and spread awareness about the products. Canon has signed Ingram Micro as the national distributor for volume products and will tie-up with AV integrated solution providers for high-end projectors. Canon will also have channel partner incentive program based on the demos.
