Bihar govt and Astric Computers sign MoU for Capacity Building of govt staff

The Government of Bihar and Astric Computers India Private Limited signed a MoU with an intent to begin Capacity Building of Government Staff (Group C and Secretariat Employees) besides also providing technical training to youth of Bihar way back in 2009-10. The primary mission of the Training Centre named as Astric-Centre of Excellence to practice the best models of conducting a broad based multidisciplinary programme in various Industrial Technical Fields, directed towards the development of skills and trades related to IT/ITeS/ICT and to become a world class training centre which commands represent in the specialized trade training programs in alignment with the Industry requirements across the globe. It has set up at Patna in Bihar and CoE today offers challenging and complimentary roles for IT administrators, Software Hardware engineers, IT technicians, Data Entry Operators to office assistants, Global Support Executives, Advanced Web Technologists and also VLSI or electronic professionals, Java and Android programmers, Embedded System engineers throughout the year.

All programs follow vocational education and training standards that are demand oriented and directly imply a close relationship with industry. To provide International Standards and Hands-on training CoE has extensive state-of-art training facilities. CoE is a registered organisation with both Government of Bihar and also Government of India. The organisation has members from Government of India, Government of Bihar, complemented by local stakeholders and representatives of industries, chambers and academia. C-DAC and NIELIT are also partners to CoE apart from NIESBUD for implementation of courses.

The CoE has 6 class rooms, 4 Labs, a library, a Video Conferencing facility apart from broadband connectivity which has been provided by BSNL with their office in the same campus.

Prabhat Kumar Sinha, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Astric Computers (I) said, “Astric has been present in Bihar since 1992 and since then it has been the hub of our global learning and development efforts that we have been able to bring in and incubate bigger players who had better turnover than us but no facility was available in Patna. The TCS iON Case has setup a new benchmark for Astric towards generating corporate culture and learning for us and it is just because of this iconic facility of CoE we will produce world class professionals to meet the future needs of the IT industry from Bihar, we are grateful to the Bihar government officials and other stakeholders whose energy and commitment has helped make CoE project a reality today,” he added.
