Arjun Malhotra honored with AETM

Arjun Malhotra, Chairman and CEO, TechSpan Inc and co-founder of the HCL Group, has been honored with the Albert Einstein Technology Medal (AETM), presented under the aegis of the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah. The 2001 Albert Einstein Honorees were announced at the Second Annual Einstein Awards and Senior Level High Tech Mission held in Jerusalem, Israel on March 24, 2001 and presented by the Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert and former

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

The criteria of the medal are vision, passion and willingness to take risks, leadership, sense of wonderment and uninhibited curiosity and commitment to improve the world. 

Malhotra joins an exclusive cadre, which includes National Semiconductor's Brian Halla, AOL Investment's Lennert J Leader, Red Herring's Tony Perkins and ZDNet's President and CEO Daniel L Rosenweig. The nominating committee co-chairs for the award included Morgan Stanley, Dean Witter's Antony Gordon, AOL Investment's Lennert J Leader and Commtouch's Isabel Maxwell.

Among the sixteen Albert Einstein honorees in 2001 are Walt Disney Internet Group Chairman Steve Bornstein, Bessemer Venture Partners Managing General Partner David Cowan, Beneventure Capital founder Gil Amelio (formerly National Semiconductor Chairman and CEO and Apple Computer President), ATT.com President Tsvi Gal, Innovation Investment's Eric Greenberg (founder and former chair of Viant, Scient, and 12 Entrepreneuring), JUMP Investor Founder and President Randall Kaplan, Century Investment Group's Founder, Chairman and CEO Omar Salah and MyWeb-Inc.com and WizOffice.com's founder and CEO Danny Toe. 

Accepting the honor, Malhotra said, "I feel honored to receive the Albert Einstein Technology Medal. As the genius himself said, a hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of others. This medal therefore is also a recognition of every individual who contributed in my endeavors."
