Bharati Cellular Ltd, under the brand name AirTel, has announced 'The Dream Plan' to bring cellular telephony within the reach of a wider customer segment.

It subjects to TRAI approval and will offer to its customers a monthly rental of Rs 295 per month with incoming as well as outgoing calls at Rs 1.15 per pulse (30 second). It has also introduced another plan 'Sweet 99', where outgoing and incoming rate is lowered to Rs 0.99, with rentals of Rs 395 per month.

According to Sanjay Kapoor, CEO, Bharati Cellular, "Lower rentals, coupled with affordable rates pulsed at 30 seconds and a lower entry cost, define the Dream Plan. These are variables which as per our research, determine penetration and category attractiveness, and should lead to an exponential growth in the market".

AirTel will be charging its customers on a 30-second pulse, which will result in further savings to the customers in Delhi. These plans also includes an arrangement whereby the customers on paying Rs 75 every month can make as many calls for free on a number of their choice, 24 hours a day. The free number option will be a major advantage for people on the move and those that need to stay in touch regularly. To further enhance the value proposition of the plan the one time security deposit of Rs 2,000 has also been reduced to Rs 1,500 under it.
