ACPL Systems Pvt Ltd, an e-security company, is now annexation of Elite Deals, one of the top three players in the world for the non-ferrous metal industry. The deal extends 'a copious present' of $ 5 million. The tie-ups happened in March and by now both firms have gelled with each other quite well.

ACPL is investing the newly gained confidence in assets like infrastructure and structure building and captivating the market in terms of expansion in the country. It is already operational in Chennai, and Mumbai and Bangalore are slated to be up and running in another 60 days time. ACPL is not planning the operations outside India, anytime before next year, apart from Mauritius where it is now very much present.

The company is now basically aiming at having its own product line, mainly in the category of e-security solutions. It does not aim at mere box pushing business, but wishes to move into the value addition business. ACPL is also keen on boasting a development center, which according to Vishal Bindra, Director, should be ready by next year.

Bindra elaborated, "Computing habits worldwide are changing so fast that you really cannot afford to start developing something for today, because by the time it is out, it is already outdated, so we really would not like to waste our efforts on that. Only developing something for tomorrow, is what makes sense. And we are heading towards that."

He also said that the idea behind this is not really looking at products of today but may be about mobile computing or something. Though talking about it today would be termed as a premature talk, as they are still in the designing stage.

Currently it is focussing more on having a larger presence in terms of offices, in terms of services, credible clients and working with whole lot of system integrators--basically offering a niche product to niche clientele with a vertical market. And because it is suggested to use the resources wisely, and Elite already has its client reach. So juxtaposing it with the company's plug in model would probably get a substantial business from them.

Secured networks and availability of sufficient bandwidth are two factors that any organization in the IT business is inclined towards. Talking about meeting the same requirements, Bindra said, it is radically this desire that ACPL wishes to fulfil and fulfil to the optimum-secured systems networks and better and convenient accessibility of bandwidth.

ACPL proposes to do this dealing mainly with the content. Content that is regularly in the pipeline; content that is most likely to pose threats to the organization, in ways more than one. Content management is an integral part of security, and the value addition that ACPL gives its customers is, getting them rid of the 'choke problem'.

Choke as in the bandwidth calculation that was actually done by may be the CTO of the company and then people are doing something on the Net which they are not suppose to. So that makes the availability scarce. Also if they are using more bandwidth than that is required, then it is something, which is not legal.

To check this, ACPL offers a solution. That is, after assessing the infrastructure and taking note of how well the client firm is placed, it decides with the management that how much should be the ideal requirement for this particular organization; and the kind of security it requires. Taking into consideration the fact that it cannot be arbitrary that anyone can just go and sell a security package; as the security levels may differ according to individual needs.

Using the products like AntiGen, Cyber Patrol, iWatch, Norton Internet Security suite, Praetor Anti-Spam and SurfWatch--that divides URLs into broad categories such as bids, leisure, malls, porno, sports, Web-based e-mails and Web-based chatting etc. Putting these software in use, it can advance the security check and restrict the merriment movement of employees of any particular organization, as demanded by the management.

It is usually the outsourced database, which has a hit rate of something close to 99.5 percent. It goes by selecting the desired

categories from it and putting them in the check. Also if it misses out on any particular site, than whenever that site is visited, it will automatically be added in the database online and that would put an end to any further access to it.

Talking about the promotional plans of the company, Sameer Mathur, Consultant, ACPL, said, "We are basically looking at some kind of branding for the company. It would start with direct mailers and then move onto organizing seminars, exclusively for the corporates, in different Indian cities, which would again be limited to a small, but niche audience of 25-30. We also have our channels for the products that are both customized as well as packed from the parent company. For example, for Trend Micro we have developed a channel of its own, for selling the product as it is. Also providing customized solutions that too gelled with the security requirements, talking about hacking, or intrusion, then ACPL is very much a part of this security market as well."

Major clients of ACPL include Mantra Online, HCL, Spectramind. Moving into more and more market space as every day goes by, its major focus is set to have a direct interaction with the customer, as cashing on the business nature which is such that it offers new customers, every

day
