In a recent theft incidentin Indore, burglars broke into the showroom of Ontrack
Systems and fled with 10 multi-branded laptops, carry bags and accessories worth
Rs 3.40 lakh.
The incident was brought to the notice of Sumit Gupta, Proprietor, Ontrack
Systems on August 17 when Gupta arrived at his shop and found the window panes
broken. The showroom was empty and laptops were missing from the shelves.
Commenting on the incident, Gupta shared, “It was a shock for me when I fist
saw the broken window panes and found that 10 laptops were missing from the
store. I immediately lodged an FIR. The police are investigating the matter.” On
being asked if he is suspecting anyone, Gupta denied the same.

After the incident, Gupta has tightened the security measures at his store
and installed new security system.
According to Madhya Pradesh Telecom and Computers Traders Association (MPTCTA),
this is among the major thefts that have taken place in Indore. With the
objective to provide support to Ontrack Systems, MPTCTA has circulated the
serial numbers of the stolen laptops to service centers across Madhya Pradesh so
that they can be tracked if the missing items arrive for servicing or
installation.
