Satyen Vyas, Promoter and Director of Bengaluru-based Vitage Group has sold
his stake in the company and joined Dell as Director, SMB. Company sources
confirmed that he has quit the organization. However, they declined to share any
details pertaining to the stake that has been sold or its value. When contacted,
the official spokesperson in Dell confirmed that Vyas had indeed joined Dell as
Director -SMB.
Commenting on the exit of Vyas from Vitage, E Manikandan, CEO, Vitage Systems
said, “Satyen has played a very important role in building Vitage Systems and
Vitage Group to take it to this position.” He also said that Vitage would remain
the same and wouldn't be acquired by any other company post Vyas' exit. “Vitage
would remain as usual and focus on its business as per plans. There are many
others, who have been part of the organization and group and continue to drive
the organization. This development in Vitage will not cause any adverse impact
to Vitage Systems,” Manikandan claimed.

When contacted, Vyas refused to comment on the scenario.
Vyas was a promoter of Vitage Group and Director since 1996. A Mechanical
Engineer from REC-Nagpur and Management graduate from IIM-Bengaluru he was
responsible for building the organization from scratch, which now has more than
500 employees and has clocked a turnover of Rs 125 crore in 2007-08.
Prior to his 12-year tenure in Vitage as a Promoter and Director, Vyas was
working as a Regional Manager for six months in PowerTel BOCA. Before that he
worked for almost five years as a Business Manager in Godrej Trading and
Services, which later become Tech Pacific India and was eventually merged with
Ingram Micro India and continues to remain one of largest distributor of IT
products in the country.
